Alicante Bouschet is one of the world's rare teinturier varieties — red flesh, red juice — producing a wine of extraordinary colour density. Created in 1866 by Henri Bouschet, it is planted in Spain's warm regions of Extremadura and Castile. The colour is near-black purple of absolute opacity.
