Piedmontese Bonarda from the Colli Tortonesi — hills of the Alessandrino on the Ligurian-Emilian border — produces some of the variety’s most serious Piedmontese expressions. On clay-limestone soils, it yields more structured and full-bodied reds than in other Piedmontese zones, with notable aging potential.
