Cabernet franc is one of the principal varieties in Béarn reds, blended with Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon in the Béarn AOC. On the clay-limestone slopes of the Atlantic Pyrenees, moderated by oceanic influence, it produces wines more accessible and fruity than pure Tannat from Madiran.
