Carménère Bordeaux vin rouge tranquille

Carménère is one of Bordeaux’s six authorised varieties, but it virtually disappeared after phylloxera, long confused with Merlot. It survives in very rare old vines, and a few Bordeaux producers are now replanting it as a living witness to historical ampelography. The colour is deep purple garnet.
