Exceedingly rare outside Irancy, César is grown on a confidential basis in a handful of Centre-Loire vineyards at the border between the Burgundian and Loire worlds, notably around the Bourges region. On limestone and clay-limestone soils similar to Irancy, it produces singular but lighter reds.
