Beaune — Burgundy’s capital, city of the Hôtel-Dieu and the Hospices, holding the largest surface area of Premier Crus in Burgundy — produces primarily red wines, but also some fine white Chardonnays. The white Premier Crus of Beaune, on clay-limestone hillside soils, are fine, aromatic and elegant Burgundian whites.
