Robertson — a Breede River Valley wine region in South Africa, east of Cape Town, on calcareous soils — is one of the country’s most dynamic wine regions. Chardonnay is vinified by the traditional method here to produce sparkling wines of fine tension and freshness, complementary to the Cape’s Charmat methods.
