Savigny-Lès-Beaune — village of the Côte de Beaune at the entrance to the Rhôin valley west of Beaune — produces mostly reds but also some character-filled white Chardonnays. These Savigny whites, on clay-loam limestone hillside soils, are fruity, round and aromatic, without great ambitions but of immediate pleasure.
