Anjou-Saumur Chardonnay — produced in the Val de Loire region on the periphery of the Chenin Blanc heartland, under IGPs or the generic Anjou Blanc — is a curiosity of the region where Chenin Blanc reigns supreme. On tuffeau and slate soils, Chardonnay produces light, fruity and aromatic wines in a Loire style.
