Clairette also enters certain rosés of the Southern Rhône, notably Côtes du Rhône rosé and Tavel. A white variety, it is pressed directly and blended with Grenache and Cinsault to contribute its floral aromas and gentle texture to Rhône rosés. The colour is pale, brilliant pink.
