Dolcetto d’Alba — produced on the Albese soils — is the most reputed expression of Dolcetto, a Piedmontese red variety whose name means ‘little sweet one’ despite its pronounced tannins. Vinified quickly, it is the everyday red of the Langhe, complementary to Nebbiolo and Barbera.
