Encruzado — a native white variety of Dão in central Portugal — is now considered one of Portugal’s greatest white varieties. On the granite soils of Dão, between the mountain ranges of the Serra da Estrela, it yields remarkably elegant, mineral and long-lived dry whites. The colour is pale to clear golden.
