Listán Negro — an autochthonous red variety of the Canary Islands, probably of ancient Spanish origin (Mission), dominant on the islands of Tenerife and El Hierro, on volcanic basalt and lapilli soils, often in century-old unirrigated gobelet — is the most authentic expression of the Canarian wine terroir.
