Lledoner Pelut Catalogne

Origin
Spain, Catalonia (likely pre-dating the spread of Black Grenache)
Growing regions
Very low, rare grape variety. Mainly Spain (Catalonia), France (Roussillon)
Also known as
Hairy Grenache, Garnacha peluda, Lladoner pelut

Lledoner Pelut — a mutation of Grenache Noir with smaller and hairier berries (hence its Catalan name meaning ‘hairy’), grown in Catalonia’s vineyards notably in the Priorat and Montsant appellations — is an ancient variety often confused with Grenache, producing wines slightly more concentrated and more coloured.
