Pineau d'Aunis Val de Loire Anjou-Saumur vin rosé tranquille

Origin
Ancient grape of the Loire Valley, probably originating from the Aunis region (near La Rochelle), mentioned as early as the Middle Ages (12th century).
Also known as
Chenin noir, Plant d’Aunis, Breton d’Aunis

Pineau d’Aunis in Saumur rosé — an autochthonous red variety of the Loire Valley, also called Chenin Noir (no genetic link with Chenin Blanc), grown in Saumur on the tufa and clay-limestone of the Loire valley — produces fresh, spiced and peppery rosés that are very characteristic.
