Pinot Noir from Clos de la Roche — the largest Grand Cru of Morey-Saint-Denis at 16.9 ha, situated on the Bajocian and Bathonian clay-limestone with a very stony subsoil, its name referring to the outcropping rock — is often considered the greatest of the Morey Grand Crus. Domaine Ponsot makes a legendary version.
