Riesling from Slovenia — grown mainly in the Podravje, often called Renski Rizling (Rhine Riesling) to distinguish it from Welschriesling (a different variety), on the clay-limestone soils and Miocene marls with a humid continental climate — produces elegant and fruity Rieslings, in the style of light German wines.
