Shiraz from Hawke’s Bay — grown in the Hawke’s Bay region (North Island), on the clay, gravel and loam soils of the Heretaunga plain with a cool Mediterranean climate — produces the most elegant Shiraz in New Zealand, with aromatics close to Rhône Syrah. Trinity Hill and Church Road are the great references.
