Teran from Kras — grown on the karst plateau of Kras (western Slovenia), on the famous red ‘terra rossa’ soils (iron-rich red clay) above the karst limestone with a Mediterranean-continental climate — produces deeply coloured, acidic and strongly tannic red wines, very rich in polyphenols.
