WSET PREPARATION APP

The VINONIA wine application has been designed in part on the theoretical foundations of the WSET in order to support all candidates in their preparation for the various examinations, whether Level 1, 2 or 3.

What is the WSET?

The WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) is a British organisation founded in 1969, specialising in training and certification in wine, spirits and sake. Recognised worldwide, it offers courses tailored to both wine professionals and enthusiastic amateurs wishing to expand their knowledge.

What are the levels of certification?

The WSET offers progressive training, divided into several levels:

Level 1: Introduction to wines, based on the fundamental principles of taste, food and wine pairing and service.
Level 2: A more in-depth exploration of grape varieties, wine-growing regions and winemaking techniques.
Level 3: Detailed study of terroirs, wine styles and factors influencing quality and price. Includes advanced analytical tasting.
Diploma (Level 4): In-depth programme aimed at professionals, covering vineyard management, wine production and trade. It is a key step towards the prestigious Master of Wine (MW) qualification.

Method and recognition

WSET courses use an analytical approach to tasting, based on the SAT (Systematic Approach to Tasting) method, ensuring an objective assessment of wines.

The qualifications are recognised by the wine and catering industry, opening up opportunities in sectors such as sommellerie, import/export and the wine trade.

Present in more than 70 countries, the WSET is now the global benchmark for wine and spirits training.
