- Origin
- Originating from central Portugal, in the mountainous region of Dão, where it is considered the great indigenous white grape variety.
- Also known as
- Salgueirinho, Salgueirinho Branco, Salgueirinho do Dão, Encuzado, Encrosado
The Encruzado grape produces wines with a pale colour, elegant and balanced, combining fat and tension. Young, it reveals aromas of white peach, lemon, honeysuckle and fine herbs. With lees or barrel aging, it develops notes of hazelnut, toasted bread and flint.
