Erbamat sparkling

Origin

Ancient indigenous grape from Bresciano, province of Brescia in Lombardy, mentioned as early as the sixteenth century, historically present on the western shore of Lake Garda.

Also known as

Albamatto, Erbamatto, Verdealbara

Outside Franciacorta, Erbamat can also be vinified under other Lombard denominations such as Curtefranca DOC, or as still wines under IGT Sebino. Its peculiarity is its extremely late ripening, which makes it difficult to manage but gives it remarkable acidity even in warm years. The colour is pale gold.
